Yann Aravit Segura (France, 18 October 1976) is a musician, French-Spanish bassist. "You can always tell the consummate professionals. They are the ones continually searching, exploring, finding new sounds, digging deeper into ways they can expand more expressions for their art. For as long as I've known Yann, he has continually dug deeper and deeper into the unknown to find the treasures of new sounds, better technique, more musicality. Think of Yann as your guide on a wonderful adventure, you won't be disappointed."

For the entire time that Yann was here in Cuba, not only was he eager to learn and understand our folkloric roots - but all also to understand all styles of Cuban music. Cuban Timba was his main achievement and together with my brother Feliciano Arango, he has become the most knowledgeable foreign bass player in this style. Besides the bass, he also studied in depth with myself and learned a lot about all our folkloric music which has enriched his knowledge a great deal. That's how I feel about my brother Yann, whom I love and respect very much.
